Individual Therapy

I work with adults and adolescents who are facing physical, emotional, and psychological pain. I help people who are facing difficult challenges such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, emotional eating, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and PTSD.

The treatment modalities that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotional Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Supportive Psychotherapy. I received advanced training for DBT through Behavioral Tech.

As a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am bound by NYS Laws of Confidentiality. This means that unless you are a danger to yourself or someone else or if you have knowledge of child abuse, what you say in therapy, stays in therapy.

My approach is supportive with attunement and compassion.

Couples Counseling

Healthy Connections are crucial to happiness. Counseling is a means of strengthening and repairing relationships. Couples counseling offers a safe space to reflect on, repair, and reconnect.

Goals of Couples Therapy:

  • Improving communication skills

  • Managing conflict

  • Rebuilding trust

  • Releasing resentments

  • Rekindling passion

  • Healing from grief and loss

  • Adjusting to change

With the intention of creating a mutually empowering partnership, I offer couples counseling that honors the spirit of your relationship and each partner within it.

Using my training in Imago Relationship Therapy and other techniques, together we explore the negative influence of conditioned patterns that have emerged from your personal histories. You will foster compassion for self and others and work towards productive dialogue. You will learn new tools to convey your needs.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a treatment intervention comprised of including the client into a relaxed, suggestible state and the offering post-hypnotic suggestions.

Hypnosis is a way of accessing the unconscious for use in mind-body healing, changing behaviors and habits, and enhancing overall performance.

One of the frequently asked questions is, “Will I be under the hypnotist’s control?” The answer is no. You will always be in control (probably more control) with full awareness every step of the way.

I am a certified hypnotherapist (CHt). I have studied with CATCH which is part of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), and I am currently studying with The Wellness Institute in Seattle WA. In addition to clinical applications, I teach the TRIM-LIFE® Weight Release Program, and Clean-Break, a smoking cessation program.

Trim Life

Trim-Life focuses on internal motivation. It is a program that provides a way to permanently release weight using clinical hypnosis and sound nutrition. It was developed by Diane Zimberoff, LMFT, founder of the Wellness Institute in Seattle, WA. It is currently being taught at the renowned Cleveland Clinic.

Trim-Life is a four week program that uses the power of your subconscious mind to “change your mind,” about food, eating, and physical activity. Trim-Life embraces a therapeutic approach to emotional eating. You will learn to release guilt, shame fear, and resentments that have led to yo-yo dieting and repeated failures in the past.

You will learn true relaxation, and receive other resources (workbook and accompanying CDs) that will assist you to make the changes you desire. Group and/or individual sessions and follow-up sessions are provided to enhance your experience.
